Within our own community, almost everyone knows
someone with cancer, and many of those have turned to the
Norris Cotton Cancer Center for help. In an effort to support
the Center in its ability to provide the most current medical
technology and disease management, we are holding a two-day
Eastman Benefit for NCCC in
June of 2009 . . .and we are asking for your support.
For the past 26 years, Eastman has supported
the NCCC by hosting a golf tournament. Funds raised during
this event have provided Norris Cotton with unrestricted monies
that would be otherwise mandated or regulated by some other
agency for very specific research. This means that Norris
Cotton can allocate this money for research and programs that
they feel benefit our community and our community’s
health issues the most.
There are five great ways to participate in
this benefit. You can attend the
Auction, play in the Tournament, be a golf tee or cart sponsor,
dedicate a memory block, and advertise in the Auction/Tournament
Handbook.
On Thursday evening, June 25, guests will gather
in the Draper Room at The Center at Eastman for the Silent
Auction. They will be served scrumptious desserts and
beverages while they bid on art and craft items, merchandise,
and services provided by area artists and businesses. All
proceeds from the auction will be donated to NCCC. Admission
is $15 per person pre-paid and includes one drink and many
dessert choices. Reservations are required—please make
your check out to ECA-DHMC and mailing it to ECA-NCCC Tournament,

On Friday morning, June 26, teams of amateur golfers will play
in the Classic Golf Tournament,
in a shotgun, best-ball format. A grilled lunch will be served
at the turn. After the round, players will get together for
the awarding of prizes and a cocktail party, Eastman Golf
Links is in the best condition ever—you will be delighted
to play each and every hole. Tournament fee is $125 per person,
which includes greens fee, golf cart, lunch, after-golf party,
and a player’s gift bag. A team registration form is

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. — tee-off at
10 a.m. — after-golf party from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.
In addition to participating in the events,
individuals can sponsor a
tee or cart, which will be used during the tournament. A sign
in your name will be placed at a tee box or on a golf cart
in appreciation, and all donors and sponsors will be listed
in the Auction/Tournament Handbook. Also, new this year,
Memory Blocks can be dedicated
to family or firneds in a quarter-page, decorative block.

to reach everyone who participates in the event. Auction items, donor, and
